Phil Nicholls and Cheryl meet Charley Pride

Working Toward a Record

Cheryl had back to back wins in her first two
Royal Victoria Marathons.
This photo is
from her second win at about mile 22. Phil and
Cheryl were working together to take a shot
at bringing down the 20 year old Coruse record.
At this point they were still on it.

 

 

Twilight Shuffle

In case you missed the 27th Annual Legion Twilight Shuffle on June 14,
you’ll be pleased to hear that more than 350 shufflers took part in this
Island Runner sponsored 5K run in Chemainus, BC. Sean Chester won
the Men’s Shuffle with a time of 15 minutes 50 seconds.
Second: Logan Roots of Shawnigan Lake, 16.51.
Third: Jerry Loeb of Campbell River at 16.59 minutes.

Lucy Smith of Sidney defended her Women’s Shuffle title at 17:38.
Second: Camie Bentham, Victoria, 20:14.
Third: Heather Afford, North Saanich, 20:36.
